‘I have absolutely loved my time working with young carers in Cowal & Bute, I have
learnt so much from you all, have shared many highs and lows with you. I have so
many memories and moments of laughter to take away with me.
Thank you and remember you are all STARS’

The Dementia Safeguarding Tag (DST) is designed to be attached to a keyring,
handbag, jacket or other item of clothing. It is not a GPS or location monitor and
does not have this capability.
Instead, the tag operates through being tapped by a mobile telephone and it relays
vital information including the person’s name and their emergency contact name
and telephone number.
It does not have further personal information such as the persons address for
obvious safety reasons.
The concept is that should the person become disorientated and be found by a bus
driver, shop keeper or simply a person walking their dog, they can tap the device
and then immediately phone their emergency contact to get them to safety
